Devonbosch

Devonbosch is a mixed-use development located on the outskirts of Stellenbosch, Cape Town. The development seeks to create an urban environment with a strong emphasis on the public realm. The architectural form-making within the precinct is responsive to the urban design rationale with an active high street with an emphasis on public and safe green outdoor spaces.  This group of ground floor retail and commercial office buildings and studios is the first to be designed and built according to the urban design rationale. Simple forms and a raw/minimal palette of materials allow for flexibility and robustness. A heavily landscaped buffer runs through the centre of the paired buildings and provides green break-out spaces for tenants. Roof gardens provide further recreational zones and take full advantage of the spectacular mountain views.
